I 'm sorry to say that unfortunately that is wrong. As a nurse I have seen first hand bullying in the work place and been also a victim of work place bullying. I’m a school bus driver. I recently complete the 2nd annual poll of my grade 6 to 12 students about safety and comfort on my school bus. This year the question: “I witness bullying or harassment on the school bus.” returned heartbreaking statistics. Of 24 returned replies, 3 said YES, 4 said OK, and 17 said NO. So it appears to me that, when they said they were “just having fun”, they were having fun at someone else’s expense. I resolved to communicate to my passengers about bullying, and be more proactive to signs of bullying. Thanks for permission to use selected text from your “for parents” web page. I’ve made banners, 8˝” by 44”, which I will hang, one each day, on the school bus wall above my head & rear-view mirror. I also maintain a “personal” school bus safety web site http://users.eastlink.ca/~schoolbusdays where I will post the banners on the “diary” page. There’s a link back to PCCPA’s “Pull the Plug” web site on my “Harassing is not fun!” web page.

9/6/2006 HI Barb: Just wanted to say great job. I finally am able to go to different web sites about bullying. You guys did a great job. Lois Fralick 8/17/2006 My name is Jim Jordan I am a motivational speaker on bullying. It's all about the bystander! if you look at a fire it needs to have ignition fuel and oxygen for it to work. Bullying is the same way, the bully is the igniter (they start up the confrontation) the fuel is the victim and all those students who stand around and say nothing are the oxygen. Therefore if you have no bystanders you have no bullies. The only way for bystanders to take the oxygen away from the bully is to speak up and tell a teacher or principal. I said tell not rat. We are trying to help someone by speaking up. Bullies can pop up at anytime, so set that foundation of having students speak up when someone is being hurt and take that oxygen away from the bully. 5/16/2006 Tks alot, used your video while doing bullying presentations at our Jr. High School.

4/13/2006 i hate bullies! 4/5/2006 i`m a student from nrhs and i just want to say how proud i am of everyone here, after a few key incidents ... things changed alot around here ... theres still alot of work to be done ... but this website shows how much students truely care about their fellow students and classmates since high school can be one of the most roughest times in a childs life, and i`m glad to read that other school are using this site to help with their own presentations .. it just goes to show that one school .. one dedicated group of students CAN make a difference .. all around the globe 4/5/2006 grrrrrrrreat 4/3/2006 bulling is bad, bulling bothes me. i thought i'd just been that lil guys frend. i felt so bad. I got bullied after that 2. My son has had to deal with bullying in Sackville (NS) for the last 4 yrs. Each yr the bully is once again put into my sons class, no matter what we say. His teachers this year are finally taking notice and keeping an eye on the bully which seems to be helping. We need to give rights back to the victoms instead of the bullies. The school boards also need more power to help put a stop to this wide spread problem.
